Joseph Woodson

With over a decade of experience in state and local government in Nashville and across Tennessee, Joseph Woodson is a leading expert on navigating the world of strategy and government relations.

From 2016-2020, Joseph served as liaison to the Metro Council and senior legislative advisor under two Metro Nashville mayoral administrations. In that time, Joseph helped steer major initiatives from the arrival of Major League Soccer to securing the passage of the city’s budget — and worked closely with all Metro departments to manage infrastructure, public safety, technology, and public procurement. 

Prior to serving in the mayor’s office, Joseph oversaw government relations for the Office of the Tennessee Comptroller. There, Joseph built and led a team that effectively lobbied and informed the General Assembly on issues including auditing, utility management, bond finance, and education reform.
